Possibly one of the briefest retirements in history, Commissioner George R. Lanwi of The Republic of Marshall Islands has taken up his old post as Commissioner of police.

Following elections and a change of Government, Commissioner Lanwi was approached and agreed to commence his duties as Commissioner of Police. Commissioner George R. Lanwi retired On 29 October 2015 and takes up his position starting today 3 February 2016.
