PICP Chair’s Award


The PICP Chair’s Award recognises an individual who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to law enforcement in the Pacific. The award is presented to a member of a PICP member police force who has demonstrated outstanding service of a unique, pathfinding or innovative nature to policing the Pacific Island region. The member must also have an exemplary police record and be considered a role model for other police members and their community. Nominations are now open! Nominations will close on Sunday, 27 July 2025.

Fiji Police Force’s Sergeant Lanieta Navitilevu was awarded the 2024 PICP Chair’s Award in recognition of her leadership and dedication to combatting transnational crime. Sgt Navitilevu was the Team Leader Pacific Transnational Crime Coordination Centre (PTCCC) in Apia, Samoa, and one of few women holding the post of Team Leader at the PTCCC. While presenting the award on behalf of PICP, Deputy Commissioner Tia'i Keti said the recognition is a massive boost of morale and an inspiration to all women in policing across the Pacific region. Fiji’s Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew who attended the 51st PICP Annual Conference in Tonga received Sgt Navitilevu’s award on her behalf from former Chair of PICP, Tonga Police Commissioner Shane McLennan
