The 52nd Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police (PICP) Conference was recently held at the historic Waitangi Treaty Grounds, highlighting the vital role of regional policing collaboration across the Pacific.
The conference brought together 21 Chiefs, Commissioners, Directors, and their delegated representatives, alongside approximately 80 observers from a broad range of bilateral, regional, and international law enforcement organisations. This made for a vibrant gathering of policing leaders and partners, all committed to advancing the safety and security of the Pacific region.
Waitangi provided a fitting backdrop for this important occasion, symbolizing unity, and the enduring value of partnership. Over several days, participants engaged in meaningful discussions, shared experiences, and reinforced the importance of working together to address shared challenges in the region.
The event itself was a powerful reminder of the strength found in regional solidarity and the collective commitment to keeping our communities safe.
The conference communique outlining conference outcomes will be shared shortly.
